I got out of my British Politics class today just after 1, and went outside, where I was greeted by the sun (!) and a warm breeze. No, I didn't take another trip to Barcelona. It's actually 70 degrees and sunny in London at this very moment. It's a good thing I bought a kilo of strawberries yesterday, because without them I would have had to eat a hot lunch. Yuck! After this post, I'll be grabbing one of my box-of-10-for-90-pence tesco popsicle/creamsicles which actually taste a lot better than you'd expect for a mere 90 p.

| Proof of today's gorgeous weather |
Now that that's out of the way, here's what's been going on in London Town.
The weekend before Dublin, Andrea's parents came to visit with some friends. We were brought some amazing American staples: ranch dressing, a huge selection of peanut butter, and Hershey's chocolate syrup, among other things. We also got to see Les Miserables, which I may or may not have already blogged about. In any case, it was amazing and I loved it. Yes mom, we did give Andrea's parents a thank you card. Christina made sure of that.
Saturday night was my friend Lee's 21st birthday party. It's not as big a deal here as it is in the US, but Lee like to throw parties and had one at her house. Christina accompanied me, and we stayed overnight at Lee's. It was an awesome time... her parents had Chinese food catered. It wasn't just pork fried rice and wonton soup either; there were several kinds of (delicious) fried rice, some noodle thing, some meat, and other such delicious things. I was seriously impressed. All of this was followed by delicious dessert, the cutest cake ever and a chocolate fountain. With such a giant food baby, I slept hardcore, and was only coaxed out of bed the next morning by the promise of real bagels with crunchy (american) peanut butter and honey.
As things have been a bit rocky in the flat recently, I was happy to have not one, not two, but three outings for various classes this Monday. First, I went to Chiswick Villa with my British Art and Architecture class. I swear our professor doesn't understand the concept of giving directions, as 11 of 13 people got lost along the way, but it was cool. I then got on the Tube and headed 12 stops to Westminster. I ate some dinner along the river, then met my Brit Politics class outside the houses of Parliament. This was the third time I've been into the House of Commons (funny, bc I haven't been in the Capitol in DC at all) and I'm basically a pro at the security there. My visitor ID picture was actually good this time, because I was prepared for it the moment I walked into the building. Take that, quick security photographer!
We watched a bit of a debate on pensions, which was actually the most interesting thing I've seen in there, and I reluctantly left so I would make it to the Old Vic Theatre on time to see Cause Celebre for my Drama in the London Theatre class. It was a good show, much better than some we've seen, although it was a bit long. At the end of the performance there was a 'mock evacuation' of the theatre and we got to go outside... which we would have done anyway, as the show was over. We made it home mostly without incident, and went to bed, because it was such a long day.
Now I have to go write a review of last week's show, but there will be another update soon. Maybe.
