On the way home from Edinburgh, my friend Michele mentioned that she was going to go to the Easter service at Westminster Abbey. Since it was Easter and I thought I should really go to church for it, and because it would be wicked awesome to go to church at Westminster, I decided to tag along. Originally we were going to go to the normal service at 10:30, but since you have to be there a half hour before and it takes about 30 minutes to get there, we decided to go to the 3 pm service, which was an Evensong.
Evensong, for those of you who don't know, means that most of the service is sung by the choir. In this case, a bunch of men and adorable boys (I swear one of them couldn't have been older than four!) wearing red and white robes with an interesting neck ruffs. Westminster Choir School is actually quite renowned, and they were amazing.
The service itself was pretty short for a holiday, only an hour, and went rather well. The man who gave the sermon was really interesting and funny and used metaphors that were both understandable and interesting.... and it only lasted 5 minutes. I was expecting a solid 20.

Today marks the first day of my last week of actual classes this semester. I'm in absolute awe of how quickly this semester went; it seems like just yesterday we were on spring break, and the day before that we arrived here. Anyway, enough sentimentality. Today is my last British Art and Architecture class (yay!). Wednesday is my last day of British Politics, and Thursday is my last day of EU Politics. I don't have my theatre class that day, because we are touring the National Theatre. Then I'm done! All I'll have left to do is take 3 finals, and then it's time to come home! Hopefully the snow is gone by the time I get back.
Westminster Abbey Easter service......I am so jealous!
