The past four months have gone by so quickly! I legitimately cannot believe that I'm going to be on a plane home in about 60 hours. I want to be home, but I don't want to leave London behind!!
First off, a recap of the week: finals, stress, papers, finals, more papers, reward self with souvenir shopping, stress, and more finals. Basically, I've been busy. Hence not posting since the royal wedding. I finished my work work on Wednesday afternoon, about 3 hours before I had anticipated, and went to Piccadilly to shop. Never again. I swear if I visit this city with my family 20 years from now, we will go see Piccadilly and Leicester once and not go back. It's too crowded and people walk so very slowly and are rude and the people working for clubs, etc shove pamphlets in your face. I would much rather walk along the river or hang out in a park.
Anyway, I came home, studied a little, then took my final final (see what I did there?) on Thursday morning, then sat through a super quick class before going to lunch with Lee, one of the girls I worked with at camp who lives just outside London. I'm going to miss her, as I won't see her until (perhaps) August, or maybe even next spring, and it was lovely to catch up one more time before I leave. Family at home, prepare yourselves. She's sending me home with a care package for you all!!
And since today was Casey's birthday but our school's end of term party was today, I made her birthday dinner (with gratuitous help from Christina and Andrea) of chicken parmesan. It was delicious, and for dessert we had another ice cream cake, graciously prepared by the one and only Christina, who has unsurpassed skills at drizzling chocolate syrup. We even had our friend Simon (who goes to Imperial College in London) over to eat with us, so we could see him before we go.
Since the weather was gorgeous today, Casey, Andrea and I met up with our friend Rachel at a park somewhere near Swiss Cottage. It has a hill and long grass and trees placed perfectly so you could lay in the sun or shade. From our spot on the hill, we had a great view of central London. We chilled in the sun for a few hours. Today was also the end of term party for school, at a pub on the South Bank. The food was sort of weird, but it was overall a pretty good time. There was a raffle ( I got a deck of Shakespeare playing cards and also reusable shopping bag) and a slideshow that had loads of funny and embarrassing pictures of everyone in the program.
Tomorrow, I'm visiting the British Museum (!!!!!) and I'll be spending Sunday finishing up packing to go home!
