Week 2

The first week of classes is over. What a relief. Everybody who says anything about the ICLC says that the classes are all harder and require a lot more writing. I don't know what classes those people took, but all of mine have less writing than usual. More reading, but I was expecting that because two fo them are politics classes. Seriously though, For one class I have a 3-4 page essay and a 1500 word essay, one 1500 word essay in each of my politics classes, and 5-6 700 word essays in my Drama class. Total page count: less than 20 pages for four classes, which equals out to an average of 5 pages per class. Really, ICLC? That's a lot of writing? I write more in my facebook statuses.

But enough about that. This week was not particularly eventful, but here's an overview:

Monday, I had class
Tuesday, I went on an adventure with Casey to find her work placement (aka internship) so she would know where it was when she had her interview the next day. We got lost, which seems to be a recurring theme for us. Luckily, Brits are very helpful and if you look lost, the nearest little old granny walking her dog will come up to you, ask if you're lost, and tell you where you need to be.
Wednesday, I had another class.
Thursday, I had 2 classes. That means 5 hours of class! Not fun.
Friday, I waited with Christina and Sarah at the flat while Casey and Andrea had a tour of Twickenham Stadium for their Sports in the UK class. Then we embarked on a quest to find fish and chips with our friend Ian. Our favorite spot for this dish is the Goose, but it was so crowded and there were no tables, so we walked around Fulham for a while until we found a place whose kitchen hadn't yet closes (it was 9:30 by then). The fish was somewhat mediocre, and the pitiful amount of ketchup we were given was, well, pitiful, but we had a good time.

Today, I am going to a football game. I don't remember who is playing, and the tickets are on the mantle, which would mean actually getting off the couch. But that's okay, because it's just a league 1 team. Not premiere or championship. I'm sure it will be fun though - even though I don't play it well, I do like watching soccer in the US, so a football match here should be great.

Now, I think it's time for some breakfast.
